How to Pitch in Life and Biz with Amanda Berlin

Season 3, Episode 7

[DISPLAY_ULTIMATE_PLUS] Our message points to our values. When we function within those parameters were not only living an authentic life, were also living an integrated life. Particularly for mothers this approach makes things easier because we're no longer segmenting or compartmentalizing work, home, and self. Learning to pitch your story to then becomes even more valuable when you can apply it beyond your business to your personal life. Welcome to the #mumboss podcast a show dedicated to enhancing your super mama powers. I’m your host Rachel Maskell and today’s guest is Amanda Berlin. Amanda is a true spin doctor and pitch guru. She is currently running Pitch School which sounds awesome for all us #mumbosses! In today’s episode expect to learn the two most important items for pitching, how understanding your message can be a framework for living, and how expanding your niche can grow your biz. And as a side note, today’s episode was recorded in a closet in Mexico...where I learned not all closets are created equal. Amanda Berlin headshot

About this episode

Meet the Guest

From Amanda Berlin: I’m a New Yorker by way of New Jersey with stints in Washington, DC and Madrid, Spain. I’m told my Jersey often shows through, whatever that means. The biggest change in my life story is the recent arrival of my baby daughter. It’s hard to adjust when the story you’ve told yourself about your life suddenly (or not so suddenly) changes. But, you get to write new stories. For a decade, I wrote pitches for companies like Disney and Dove, Brawny and Baskin Robbins, Colgate and Campbell’s. Clients would come to me with a spokesperson and some message points and I’d package it up and create a story that would get pitched to news outlets across the country. The pitches I wrote resulted in appearances on nearly every local television outlet in the country and every national cable and network morning show at one time or another. I know what it takes to connect with an audience. Now, I use my pitch powers for good. AmandaBerlin.com Pitch School Amanda Berlin on Facebook   Bed music from Podington Bear. Thank you for the use!
